Katherine Smock
My research uses qualitative methods to examine the precariousness and changing nature of rental housing in Los Angeles. I am particularly interested in the ownership of rental housing and the policy that shapes it. My current project looks at the experiences of tenants as they organize together to solve problems related to landlord conflict and eviction.
